Export Asylum Research files as an ASCII file
Experimental files from an Asylum Research facility which have been generated with the option Save to Memory can not been analyzed directly by PUNIAS since they are too big and must first be exported as an ASCII file by means of an export macro in IGOR.
To perform an ASCII export, first open the Asylum Research experimental files to be analyzed in IGOR, then open the export procedure named asciimacro.ipf with File – Open – Procedure. The procedure then needs to be compiled with Compile and minimized in order to be used. A new macro named SaveASCIIFiles will then appear in the menu window which can be then used.
When the macro is launched a window is showed up with the following options that allow you to specify how the files are exported:
Wave Base Name
Base Name of the exported ASCII files that will be exported.
Start Index
Starting index of the exported waves. The index will be added to the Base name for the name of the ASCII file.
End Index
Ending index of the exported waves. The index will be added to the Base name for the name of the ASCII file.
Quit Macro
To cancel the exportation of the waves and close the macro window.
Continue
To proceed to the next window of the SaveASCIIFiles macro.
Help
To display the help menu of the macro window.
When proceeding to the next window by pressing Continue, another window asks you to Pick a Folder where the exported ASCII files are saved. Type in or select with the Browse button a folder. By clicking OK, the exportation of the ASCII file is started.
